How do you prepare Azeri teachers to provide lessons on Democracy for their pupils? Since we believe you can only learn about democracy - how it works, what it asks of you as a citizen - by experiencing it, we made a Game for Caucasus youth. We blogged about this experiences before. Now, the next step is to support teachers in working with that Game. We chose a similar approach: instead of 'lecturing' and 'explaining' we engaged the teachers in an experience, through which they could learn about how to facilitate learning about democracy. An exciting visit!

De meeste professionals hebben niet zoveel met onderzoek. We associëren het snel met saaie kwantitatieve studies, ingewikkelde modellen en lastige begeleiders. En daarbij: het staat maar ver weg van de praktijk…. Dat vinden wij erg jammer! De brug tussen praktijk en onderzoek is ontzettend belangrijk, met name ook in het vak van opleiden, leren en veranderen. En daarbij: het is niet waar dat onderzoek alleen maar saai en lastig is. Onderzoek kan ook een hele spannende bezigheid zijn, en een effectieve manier om aan zinvolle organisatiethema's te werken. Dat vraagt wel een ander perspectief.

With all of my passion I stepped in the role of starting Kessels & Smit in Germany two years ago. Since then my dream was and still is to realize a new workplace culture. And I found out that my dream goes beyond consulting work as we know it today. Therefore I had to take a decision for one or the other.

It’s official - Kessels & Smit UK is open for business! I am delighted to have joined the company and to be extending the K&S network into the UK. As we make the big announcement, two questions rise to the fore. ‘How did we get here?’ and ‘Where are we going?’

It is a well known 'recipe' for pop artists struggling with their inspiration: if you ever lose your 'flow', the best place to go to is Berlin... Submerging yourself in this city's energy and creativity is guaranteed to help you rekindle your own flow. Will the city have the same effect on consultants and coaches? Not that we are running short on inspiration - on the contrary!! - but more is always welcome. Berlin seems like a great place to visit and learn from. So we're planning a study trip! Well... more of a discovery tour....
